  • This also happened to the USA, three titles came in cycles of four years (197419781982).
  • No African country has ever won the Miss International title. The nearest possibility came in 1996, when Tunisia placed first runner-up.
  • Almost all Miss International titleholders are still alive today, except the 1991 winner, Agnieszka Kotlarska of Poland, who was stabbed to death by a stalker in 1996.
  • Since the 1966 Miss International pageant was canceled, 1965 winner Ingrid Finger's reign was the longest among titleholders, totaling 624 days (more than 20 months). For a one-year reign, the longest belonged to her successor, Miss International 1967Mirta Teresita Massa who held the title for 529 days (more than 17 months). The shortest reign was that of 1975 winner Lidija Manić, which spanned just 242 days (less than eight months).
  • Lidija Manić of Yugoslavia was a Miss Universe delegate who didn't place at that pageant and later won the Miss International title in1975.
  • Sophie Perin of France was a Miss Universe and Miss World delegate who didn't place at both pageants and later won the Miss International title in 1976.

**FYI :  Stella Marquez of Colombia married one of the Philippine Millionaires, (surname : Araneta), thus became Stella Marquez-Araneta. She became the founder and organizer for the Bb. Pilipinas - Universe Beauty Pageant.

Dayanara Torres became an actress / celebrity in the Philippines.  Her boyfriend then was the former heartthrob actor, Aga Muhlach (who is married to a former Miss Universe-Philippines turned celebrity, Charlene Gonzales).  Dayanara married Latin-American singer, Marc Anthony, but got divorced eventually.

The Winning Speech during the Miss International 2013 Question and Answer Portion

"The whole world saw how my country, The Philippines, suffered.  The agony of my people was felt, but, one by one, country to country, came to help.  I would like to thank all the nations that helped my country-- in our darkest hours, you have opened my eyes and my heart on how important it is if we all just support each other... If I become Miss International, I will uphold international camaraderie to sustain the spirit for sympathy and to continually share the message of hope.  I believe now that whatever calamity may come to us, as long as we have each other, there will be HOPE!"  -- Bea Rose Santiago, Miss International 2013.
