ABS CBN STAR MAGIC BALL 2009

ABS CBN STAR MAGIC BALL 2009

Dressed in strictly formal attire, hundreds of contract artists of Star Magic, ABS-CBN's talent arm, gathered for one magical evening on the first-ever Star Magic Ball. The event was held last August 5 at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Intercontinental in Makati City.

ABS-CBN's then Executive Vice President Charo Santos-Concio (now promoted to ABS CBN's President) still looks every inch the elegant movie star she once was. The TV executive was one of the night's recepients of the Galaxy Award.

Director Lauren Dyogi—the man behind the successful reality shows Pinoy Big Brother and Pinoy Dream Academy. (now is the Business Unit Head of some of the highly successful  ABS-CBN Reality and Variety Shows.)

ABS-CBN executives (from left) Deo Endrinal, vice president for entertainment; Cory Vidanes, SVP for TV production; and Malou Santos, managing director of Star Cinema with director Olivia Lamasan.

The man behind the success of Star Magic—Johnny "Mr. M" Manahan. Many of today's top stars have achieved their status through Mr. M's help and guidance.

Arguably the country's leading man, Piolo Pascual did not disappoint the public by showing up at his handsomest best. Piolo is the favorite leading man of some of the country's top actresses.

Sam Milby

Zanjoe Marudo

Diether Ocampo

Jake Cuenca

Mr. M pays tribute to ABS-CBN's former President and COO Freddie Garcia, who was one of the recepients of the Galaxy Award. Mr. Garcia is acknowledged to be the man who brought the Kapamilya Network to the top of the network wars.

The CEO and Chairman of ABS-CBN, Mr. Gabby Lopez, was the third and and last recipient of the Galaxy Award.

Mr. Gabby Lopez also celebrated his birthday that night. Bea Alonzo led the toast for the top honcho of the Kapamilya Network.

Four of the country's top leading men—(from left) Sam Milby, Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo, and John Lloyd Cruz—also served as hosts. The four heartthrobs performed a special song number before taking on the hosting chores.

ASAP '07's pride in dancing—(from left) John Prats, Maja Salvador, and Rayver Cruz—dazzled their peers and the guests with their excellent dance number.

Bea Alonzo shows that she is not only an excellent actress but is also a graceful and confident dancer.

Mr. M joins the Star Magic talents, led by (from left) Bea Alonzo, Baron Geisler and Kristine Hermosa, on the dance floor for an all-night dance party.

The Star Magic talents whoop it up on the dance floor. The dance party lasted until two o'clock in the morning.
