METEOR GARDEN'S F4 LATEST UPDATES

F4  REUNITED IN  2009 DURING THEIR JAPAN TOUR

F4 REUNITED IN 2013  SPRING FESTIVAL AFTER FOUR (4) YEARS :

F4 Reunites for Spring Festival Gala, Causing Fans to Cry thumbnail

After almost four years, the Taiwanese boy band F4 composed of Jerry Yan, VanNess Wu, Ken Chu, and Vic Chou reunited for Jiangsu TV’s Spring Festival Gala last January 31.

F4 performed the song “Meteor Shower” from their popular 2001 Taiwanese drama series Meteor Garden which also became popular in the Philippines and in other countries.

In 2007, the group released their third and last album as F4. Due to copyrights-issues, the group's name was changed to JVKV.

Although the group did not officially disband, each members pursue their own solo careers as artists.

Twelve years have passed since the F4 craze swept across Asia, fans at the Spring Festival Gala still went crazy when they peformed.

Taiwanese boy band sensation, F4, briefly reunited in 2008 to hold a string of seven concert shows in Japan. Since then, the quartet group separated again to pursue their own acting and music careers.
F4 reunited again on January 31, 2013 to record Jiangsu TV’s Spring Festival Gala, a variety concert to celebrate the forthcoming Lunar New Year of the Golden Snake.

Member Ken Chu (朱孝天) arrived at the Beijing International Airport on January 28. Wearing a mask and a thick jacket, Ken kept a low-profile and held his head down. He was accompanied by his assistant. On January 29, members Vic Chou (周渝民) and Jerry Yan (言承旭) arrived to the airport in the early afternoon, flanked by an insane number of loud fans.  Both Vic and Jerry flashed their smiles at the fans; Vic also took the time to accept his fans gifts and consistently reminded the fans to stay safe admit the packed crowd.

Vanness Wu (吳建豪) arrived hours later in the evening. He greeted the press and wished them a happy Lunar New Year. When he arrived at his hotel, he snapped a picture with Jerry and posted the photo on Weibo, writing, “Long time no see, brother!”

Vanness’ manager expressed, “[Jerry] would sometimes visit Vanness’ home, but because they are all busy, it has been a while since they last hung out.”

In regards to the group’s chemistry and close relationship, Vic stated through his manager, “[I am] very happy and excited [for the reunion]… I hope the group will be able to bring everyone a splendid performance.”

F4′s Stage Appearance Makes Fans Cry

In order to reunite F4 onstage, Jiangsu TV contacted Jerry, Vic, Vanness, and Ken’s managers more than one year ago.

When F4 finally appeared on stage to perform their classic song, “Meteor Shower” <流星雨> from the popular 2001 Taiwanese drama, Meteor Garden <流星花園>, fans sang along nostalgically and started to cry. Jerry’s eyes also moistened. Twelve years have already passed since F4 rose to prominence and now each member have become mature men and forged successful careers.

The highlight of the evening came when F4 spoke about working together as a boy band in the past and their impressions of each other.

Vic was known for his absent-mindedness, often forgetting to meet with friends despite previous arrangements. Vic had agreed to meet with Vanness at a gym, but he did not appear after forgetting about the meetup.

Vanness was considered to be the most hardworking. The other F4 members quipped, “He does not understand Chinese. When we received his text message in Chinese, we were especially moved.”
Ken was deemed as the member with the most idealistic vision. “He has his own lifestyle choices. He is now busy learning Tai Chi and plans to become a director in the future.” Ken was also the most attentive and will bring extra socks and underwear in case anyone forgot on their trips aboard.

Jerry was considered as the most boring, but he saw himself as the most naive. Known for his fierce temper in the past, Jerry apologized to Ken and the two embraced each other on stage. Fans applauded loudly and Jerry’s eyes moistened with tears once again.

Although 12 years have passed since the F4 craze swept across Asia, fans may have a chance to see them reunite for a concert this year.

At the backstage during their rehearsal :
Jerry Yan: "When I first heard about the show, I thought it was all a joke because we promised to do a reunion show for CNY a few times now and each time it fell through because of our conflicting schedules. But even when the show was confirmed, I thought that it was still a joke. It was really only when I was boarding the plane that I started seriously thinking, 'Yeah, I think everyone is going to show up this time.'"

Vic Chou: "I was scared that if we waited for another 10 years to stage a reunion, we would all be in our forties by then. So I think we were just as eagerly anticipating this reunion as our fans were."

Vanness Wu: "I got a bit emotional even during our rehearsals because I was touched by the happinness the fans have brought us in the last 12 years, the journey that they have shared with us for the last 12 years."

Ken Chu: "I've noticed recently that even my moustache is turning white. Maybe in recent years, I've had a more mature, adult way of thinking and handling situations. But after bumping into my brothers, I feel like I returned back to the days of my youth."

The organisers spared no expense for this long-awaited reunion.

Already forking out S$1.1million for the handsome foursome to appear on the show, they also acquired Taiwanese stylist Chen Sun Hua to customise their wardrobe which set them back another cool 1 million Taiwanese dollars (S$44,000).

And like nervous debutantes, the stars were all concerned about what they were going to wear for this special occasion.

Chen said: "Vic is fitter now and he hopes to go for the low-key look while Jerry has lost weight and wants to try clothes with lighter tones."

"Vanness is trying to lose weight because he is too buffed and Ken is troubled by water retention issues."
Dressed in immaculate black and red outfits, the stars looked like their regal princely selves immortalised in the 2001 hit drama in which their characters referred to themselves as "The Flower Four".

Jerry, who injured his eye recently while filming for a drama series, even had 10 pairs of sunglasses prepared for his performance, but he was only spotted wearing them backstage in photos.

Perhaps laughter is truly the best medicine, as the star whose spirits were raised by his fellow bandmates after joking and laughing both on and off-set, seemed to not need the sunnies after all. Though, when asked by the media, he replied: "It's been so long since we've collaborated. I'm really happy. It's a pity about my eye."

Jerry Yan's sincerity in wishing ex-girlfriend Lin Chiling a blissful marriage in the future has been interpreted by the Chinese media as being finally able to let go of the celebrity model.

"A really great girl like her must have a lot of pursuers. I hope she will meet someone who will treat her well, who is good enough for her to settle down with and have children," the actor said at the Taiwan premiere of "Ripples of Desire".

The Jerry-Chiling-Qiu Shikai love triangle has never ceased being the topic of the media, even after it has been confirmed that Jerry and Chiling have long broken up.

Chiling has been rumoured to be dating businessman Shikai as well as having an on again-off again relationship with Jerry, causing the whole fiasco to be a never-ending story.

But things seem to be able to finally come to a stop with Jerry professing his best wishes to his ex.

For the first time, Jerry Yan candidly discussed his closely-guarded personal life in a new photobook, and reminisced about his romance with Lin Chi-ling in a moving piece.

Despite his outpouring display of affections, the supermodel has shut the door coldly in his face.

In an intelligent yet almost painful answer while appearing at an environment awareness event, she said, "Love cannot be recycled."

Before that, when asked if she would want Jerry back, Chi-ling had only said, "I will cherish all the good memories."

The two were exposed as lovers in 2002 when their infamous bathrobe photos were stolen from Chi-ling's mobile phone when it was sent for repair. It is not known why they split but singer-actor Jerry mentioned in a talkshow last year he had written a letter of repentance for Chi-ling but never sent it.

The opening chapter Love Fairytale of his new photobook 9314 Man & Boy is heart-wrenching, to say the least.

In it, the former F4 member talked about visiting a post-horseriding accident Chi-ling and how they both had cried, because "a princess' biggest wish is to see her prince".

Known for being reserved and emotional, Jerry also wrote that she is too perfect and deserves a better man.
"I let her go because I really love her. If you've really loved someone a lot, you should be able to understand," he penned.

Lin Chiling went to a few tv stations to raise funds for Worldvision, to help the African Aids orphans.
She also talked abt her trip to Africa, she was very much saddened by the situation of the kids there.
She nearly cried when she was with the children but was informed by the organisers to try her best
not to cry.

The 2 TVBS hosts then played a game with her, "the perfect male friend". There's a board with the pixs of
6 males, the 1st is her modelling co. boss, 2nd - Jerry, 3rd - a childhood friend, 4th - Chai Kang Yong,
5th - LCL's older brother & 6th -Tomo, her Japanese co-host for Japan travel show. There's the 2nd board
with several questions, such as who's not gentle, who dont have a good body, who is not sentimental, etc, etc.
For every question, Lin Chiling has to choose 1 male who fits the criteria of the question & the person
will be voted out. In the end, for the last question, the only 2 males left were Jerry & LCL's childhood friend,
& the question was "who dont have white teeth". LCL said both the guys have white teeth,
she cant decide but the hosts said she must choose between the 2. In the end, LCL put
the "Out" sign in between the 2 guys, giving not a definite answer. The 2 hosts then pull
away the paper at the end of the question board which is the answer of who is her perfect male friend
& the answer is Jerry.

Btw, the childhood friend of LCL is the same guy which was once rumoured to be
competing with Jerry for Ms Lin, this guy is from a rich business family & its the same one
that newspapers wrote that LCL's mother favour him as a son-in-law over Jerry.

Chai Kang Yong & Lin Chiling co-hosted a show together, but recently LCL left the show to
concentrate on acting class. LCL also guested at Kang Xi Lai Le, a show that is hosted by Xiao S
& Chai Kang Yong. I havent seen the clips but seems that LCL was asked during KXLL to choose
who is the handsomest amongst a list of males pixs provided, she chose Jerry.
Also, Xiao S told LCL that her husband (Mike) admires LCL.
