Thoughts by Jerry :
"I hope all new comers will take the chance to learn. I jumped from being a model to acting, at the begining I did not know much. Your looks can attract people at the beginning but if you don't have any skills, then people would be disappointed. When people think you are just good looking but empty within, then the liking does not last long."
That's how he evaluates himself, he is very clear headed.
A month ago, in 2013, when I was at the supermarket, I heard the song, I'll Let You Go/Broken Vow played in the background. I gave a big sigh. Missing Meteor Garden so much. It has been already part of my life that will forever be stamped in my heart.

When Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson (Filipino actors) portrayed the lead characters in My Girl (original version from Korea), Gerald and Kim then were so young and their acting was raw (in my opinion but I will give a better rating to Kim Chiu for her very good acting portrayal than Gerald) so the Philippine version did not pass in the viewers' favorite tv series lists. But the Philippine's original My Binondo Girl series was remarkable and highly anticipated and ranked First (1st) on primetime. Xian Lim and Kim Chiu had the chemistry that people would want to see, and the storyline will not be forgotten. Plus new casting (with actors who have been seen in one or 2 dramas with short scenes or few appearances). I think the reason why My Binondo Girl became successful and interesting to watch is because, despite Kim Chiu being known so well in Philippine TV Dramas, she was being supported by male leads that were seldom visible in the boobtube eventhough half of the Philippine population know that they exist. So people's curiosity contributed to the growing interest to the drama. And of course, the storyline itself is really very new and well portrayed by the entire cast.
As for the Philippine's version of Green Rose compared to Korea's original version, I should say that the two versions should be given a standing ovation.
I cannot wait for any country to create their own version of the Philippine's popular tv dramas (specifically from ABS-CBN). It will surely make us smile and be proud!

Away from Beijing for 5 years, Jerry Yan held a book signing for his photo album "9314 Man and Boy" in the city. He once dated Chi-ling Lin, a romantic relationship that the two couldn't make it public. Yesterday it was his first time talking about romance in the future: "If it's at a right situation, I would make it public to everyone."
As for qualities of his other half, he said: "Want to find a serious girl, although I got older, but I am not mature enough, need an exquisite girl to take care of me." He stressed relationship depends on fate, if that day really comes, he would tell everyone.
Jerry went to Australia to shoot photos for this photo album, he joked that the media should introduce girlfriends to him: "If I have a girlfriend, maybe I would bring her to Australia, open a farm there, and take care of little animals together. Although I'm not someone who knows how to make girls happy, but I would try to tell jokes everyday to make her laugh."
As for new films, he expressed he's approached by several screen plays, his next film might be filmed in Mainland. He said: "Don't think I'm expensive, welcome everyone to approach to me. If there is a good film that can let me perform well, I'm willing to perform even unconditionally."
MY TAKE: Jerry Yan should be taking care of himself. Even if he is now in his late 30's, he should not let his body and stature go to waste. He should bring back the same Idol appeal he used to have. Maybe a shorter hair and a clean look, with very good tv series can help him reinvent his outlook in life and career.
Jan 21 2011 BCC News – Jerry Yan and Girls' Generation
Awarded “the Best Asian Artist”
Jerry Yan from the boy band “F4”, who enjoys high
popularity in South Korea, has been awarded the highest
award, “the Best Asian Artist Award”, at the 6th Asia Model
Festival Awards tonight in Seoul.
There are three recipients in this category. The other two
are the Korean girl band “Girl’s Generation” and Korean
star Kwon Sang Woo.

receive the award. He would like to visit Korea more often.
Rainie told the audience how handsome Jerry was as they walk through the long stage.
Jerry gave his supportive message to Rainie in the end.
Endorsed by leading Filipino personalities, Bench (named after it’s owner, Ben Chan) had non-Filipino endorsers, most notably, Jerry Yan of Taiwan’s Meteor Garden and other Hollywood celebrities. His Bench pictures were also on huge billboards installed along busy streets of Edsa and Flyovers going South.

Jerry Yan as the new Bench model!!!
`Dao Ming Si' is Bench model_________________________________________________________
FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo
The Philippine Star 09/10/2003
First, the bad news (as you must have known by now): Jerry Yan,
a.k.a. Dao Ming Si (in the smash-hit chinovela Meteor Garden), is
not coming for the concert at the old ULTRA on Saturday, Sept.
13...and neither will Vic Zhou (a.k.a. Hua Ze Lei). Only two F4
members, Ken Zhu (a.k.a. Xi Men) and Vanness Wu (a.k.a. Mei Zuo),
are performing (along with, among others, Barbi Xu, a.k.a. Shan Cai
and/or Big S, and her sister Little S), so it's not really an F4 but
only an "F2" concert. Better than none at all, 'no?
And now, the good news: Jerry Yan/Dao Ming Si has just been signed
up as the newest Bench endorser. The pictorial for the Bench
posters/billboards will be done in Hong Kong anytime now. Richard
Gomez, the original Bench model, will be there to formally welcome
Dao Ming Si to the fast-growing Bench Family (also including Jomari
Yllana, Wendell Ramos, Richard Gutierrez, Marc Nelson, Assunta de
Rossi, Diether Ocampo, Robby Mananquil, etc.).
How did Bench big boss Ben Chan close the deal with Dao Ming Si?
Trade secret, of course. You see, Ben Chan (who has opened several
Bench outlets in China) has his own Chinese connections, and so...
Richard will also do a one-on-one with Dao Ming Si to be telecast on
GMA's Sunday-afternoon show S-Files sometime in October.
Dao Ming Si, 26 (born in Taiwan on January 1, 1977, a Capricorn), is
the same guy (with his fellow F4 members) in the Pepsi TV commercial
emerging from inside a Pepsi delivery truck. That commercial was
shot a few years back and its release in the Philippines was timed
with the F4 rage.
Dao Ming Si's real name is Yen Cheng Xu but people call him Xiao Bai
Tu which means "small white rabbit" and Bao Long ("Fierce Dragon").
Every F4 fan knows that he's the leader of F4 and, as Dao Ming Si,
he likes to torment students foolish enough to challenge him. When
Shan Chai makes the mistake of crossing paths with him, Dao Ming Si
swears to make her life a living hell.
Before joining F4, he starred in some commercials, making him the
most popular member when the F4 was organized. In his spare time,
Dao Ming Si plays basketball and attends parties only every now and
then. His hobby is collecting sunglasses.
Now, did you know that Dao Ming Si is nervous when asked to do a
kissing scene? It took 20 takes before he could kiss Barbi Xu/San
Guess what the blood type of this hunk is – yes, Type B!
